A Matter of Perspective

Trans-plutonian bodies, Eris, Varuna, Quoaor, and Sedna are a real trip, reminiscent of the sidewinder energy of the cosmic visitor Chiron, who picks us up and dusts us off with stunning revelations about ourselves, but only after he’s knocked off our feet with something that seemingly comes out of nowhere.
In this dimension, time is linear. We are used to thinking that point C follows point B that follows point A. In astrology, the traditional planets, the Sun through Saturn fits very neatly into this parochial view of the Universe. We even were able to expand our consciousness to include the “new? planets from Uranus through Pluto when we realized these planets were about personal and spiritual growth. Since it was all about us, we could get down with that. But when we are confronted with energies that do not follow this convenient path we tend to get confused. The trans-plutonian bodies are scarcely parsed, though this may be in part from these solar inhabitants’ own extra dimensional nature.
Think of it this way. If you were a two dimensional creature, you could perceive length and width, but you wouldn’t be able to perceive height. Anything other than a flat plane would be unfathomable. Yet in the next dimension, the third, includes in it paradigm “height?. All the inhabitants of this dimension can perceive “height?, but they have difficulty perceiving the next dimension and so forth.
String theorists have postulated that there are up to eleven dimensions which leaves on a practical level significant territory that we have difficulty perceiving on this physical plane.
When an extra-dimensional body like Eris or Sedna manifests in this dimension, the lens of the dimension we inhabit distorts the energy. All the fine nuances that apparent in their own dimension are hidden. What comes through to us are often discordant elements that are incongruent to our thinking processes.
Eris is a case in point. Labeled the “Goddess of Discord? in Greek mythology she is generally despised mostly because:
[Eris] is associated with hardships, quarrels, fights, battles, jealousy, rivalry and revenge.
Yet,
there are positive effects too like energy, resourcefulness, ability to have a clear mind in emergencies and the wish to work for happiness.
Quite a juxtaposition!
To understand these planets we need to be willing to suspend our Point A to Point B thinking. We’ll just have to accept that some of what these planets are saying just isn’t going to make sense at first. Moving past that will help us ascribe their meanings in our charts and our lives. Its all a matter of perspective.
