A Reader’s Question About the August 1, 2008 Eclipse

by Beth Turnage

July 29, 2008

I am concerned about the upcoming Solar Eclipse and new moon on Aug 1st. Can you tell me if this is going to be a bad thing or a good thing for me? What kind of changes are going to take place? I have Leo in the 6th house- does that make a difference? I am on disability with a heart condition and I am afraid that the shake up will be more than I can handle.

Date of birth: 10/26/1971
Time: 2:50 pm
Place: Culver City CA

Many thanks!

Dear Reader,

I rather suspect that you know the answer yourself. You have a packed eighth house with Uranus sitting there, and an out of sign Grand Trine with the Moon, Pluto and Saturn and your Sun in Scorpio, so you have more than a passing interest in astrology. Considerably more.

Too psychic for your own good, ever questing after the answers of the Universe, you’ve spent a good amount of time and money on acquiring and reading books looking for the answers. But the answers are not inside books; the answers are inside you.

The next sixth months will focus this issue for you as the energy of the eclipse comes to bear on your sixth house South Node of the Moon. The South Node talks about the past and karma. You’ve been feeling that you are paying the price of past debts. Let me assure you that there is never a need to pay off Karmic debt, but there is a need to retire it, to let go of its hold on you.

If you’ve been working with a spiritual teacher, you might find that you are at the end of the journey with this person. This is a natural and important part of the spiritual process. The seedling may not grow far from the tree, but it does need to develop its own roots.

I can see your concern about your heart, especially since Leo rules the heart. But sixth house transits do not always mean health problems. Nor do I see any aspects that foretell you shedding your earthly body, so you can put that fear to rest right away. In fact fear and worry, so strongly suggested by your Capricorn moon, take more of hold on your life than you desire. It is natural for natives with strong Capricorn energy to work over a problem in their minds until it becomes a thought that manifests stress. It is a lesson for you to learn to let go of things you can’t control. Yes, your Scorpio Sun wants to control everything, but the fires of creation take commands only from God. Does this make sense to you?

So you have some work to do, yes, but it can be an incredibly liberating time for you as you explore the parts inside yourself that need refining. It is a private journey, but one that should yield some amazing results.

Good Luck and God Bless,

Beth
