Advice Through Astrology: Boys Just Want to Have Fun

Reader’s Question: I read your answer to another woman and I felt some similarities in my situation. I have recently broken up with my boyfriend of 10 months. It’s a bit deja vu…all on then a pulling away gradually. This time I decided not to chase and just accept he is at where he is at - scared to commit to a relationship - and there is nothing I can do about it except move on and work on myself instead. It’s frustrating to me because we are so compatible on so many levels. Would appreciate your thoughts. I am Aquarius, born 17 February 1969 at 9.16pm in Lower Hutt, New Zealand. He is Gemini, born 26 May 1970 at 2.30am in Melbourne, Australia

Beth’s Answer: I think, quite rightly, the “let’s be really good friends, with benefits” thing got old for you.

Sure on many levels you are a good match. And you know that he finds sex with you really hot.

With grand trine in air signs, life for this guy is all jello pudding. Tasty and goes down easy. Then he meets you and life got all complicated.

It doesn’t help that your personality is very complex. Life for you is a puzzle, with you trying to figure out where to put the next piece. You are also overwhelmed with a multitude of psychic impressions that are often at odds with the intellectual content around you. You sense undercurrents in situations that most people are too “headblind” to see. The phrase “too psychic for your own good” comes to mind. Perhaps you don’t know that most people do not perceive the things you do? But they don’t.

Understand that while your boyfriend (let’s call him that for the sake of simplicity) understands on some level your dilemmas, he finds them disturbing. Not understanding his own abilities in this area, he is perturbed to discover life is much more complicated than what it appears.

It is also totally true that he finds the idea of taking on the emotional care and feeding of another human being a daunting task. He gets that taking on a permanent relationship with you would drastically change how he navigates the world. It would be quite simply, be more work. And you know, darling, that all this boy wants to do is play.

Looking at the transits, I just don’t see where he is willing to change his lifestyle at this time.

Oh, you’ll hear from him again. (A boy gets lonely from time to time, you understand). It is totally up to you, but you should in the kindest way possible, let him know that while you understand he needs his space, which you are willing to give, you need some things back, like a commitment.

At this point, if he’s not willing to do that, then let it go. Some people just don’t know what’s good for them.

Reader’s Reply: Thank you…I feel much clearer now…really helped hearing about the psychic/intellectual confusion…it’s so true, I really do feel that quite often…the words don’t match the energy and I’m ten steps ahead without knowing how I got there and wondering why everyone else doesn’t get it! Thanks!
