Astrological Advice: A Lack of Focus

Hello, Beth,

I’ve tried to do a lot of things in my life, but can’t focus on one thing alone.

I wish to leave the marriage I’m in but I’m afraid to because I only work PT and feel I have to get my debt out of the way first.

I like to write children stories, but can’t seem to get them out in mail because of fears they’ll be stolen.

I also have trouble retaining information. My mind’s always a blank until I go deep into my thoughts and then I remember things related to something, but I’m not aware of others around me. My kids used to say, “Earth to
Mom,” to get my attention.

I get frustrated very easily too. I’ve wondered if I may have a mental condition other than depression that I’ve been told I have by therapists.

It also seems that when an opportunity comes along I just miss it or it’s given to someone nearby.

I am also intuitive and have had many psychic experiences in my life. Is there some way to control the psychic side of myself?

I was born in Newark, NJ, on 12/29/1946 at 9:13 PM.

Anne

Dear Anne,

I couldn’t possibly give you an astrological diagnosis on any possible mental conditions. That part of astrology just hasn’t been measured well enough where we can do that for people. But let’s take a look at your chart and go through some of the elements to help give you some direction.

Your strong psychic side is due to your moon, representing your emotions, in the the very psychic sign of Pisces

The first step in this process is learning how to separate your emotions from the emotions of others. I wrote about this process in my post The P Word . You are so tuned in to everything around you, that you have a difficult time recognizing the difference between your emotions and everyone else’s. You need to separate your emotions from those around you and do so consistently so that you can focus on what you want to accomplish. Once you do so, the disturbing psychic experiences you have should calm down.

Second, I would recommend seeking out medical advice from someone who can properly diagnosis and treat whatever underlying physical condition may contribute to your lack of focus. “Depression? is a diagnosis that is all to often given to women when physical causes are not recognized. You may want to be tested for allergies, as allergies can cause the foggy headedness you experience. Finally, seek the advice of a psychiatrist if all physical causes are ruled out. It is important that you tend to yourself, so that you can pull yourself out of your Neptunian fog.

The urge is definitely upon you to leave your marriage as Uranus, the planet of change is sitting on top of your moon. Often this configuration does bring a move to a new home but not always! From the aspects in your chart, Moon in challenge aspect to Mercury and to Uranus, it looks like you are subject to a great deal of criticism within your home. This is never healthy, but are you in a position to handle the reality of living on your own? Neptune, the planet of confusion, sits in your second house. You have difficulty controlling finances. You may need to engage the services of a financial advisor to help you get a handle on how to manage with the money you have. The issue is not getting out of the debt you have, unless, you have not revealed the extent of your indebtedness to your spouse. Divorce has a handy way of divvying up debts in an equitable manner. However, if you are afraid that your level of debt is going to spark an unacceptable level of conflict in your home, then you must absolutely seek professional services to get yourself out of this mess. If you must call a Domestic Violence hotline to help you through this, then do so. The number for the National Domestic Violence Hotline is 1-800-799-7233.

Whatever changes you need to make, you can, but you should take care to do them in the proper order and with an eye on making sure you and your interests are taken care of. There is help out there. Go for it. Good Luck.

Beth
