Astrological Analysis: 50 Cent’s Baby Mama Drama

by Beth Turnage

June 5, 2008
Here’s the story.

So what is the story? Is 50 Cent obsessed with his Baby’s Mama? Did he burn down his house? Or did she? What does astrology have to tell us?

No doubt, Curtis Jackson is a seriously troubled man. And despite his protestations about Wikipedia’s biography of him, he is capable of violence. Though he has a gentle, home loving, Sun in Cancer, it is square the planet of transformation, Pluto. This gives him an intense and driving need to control things in the home. If Shaniqua Tompkins ever thought he was going to give up real estate to her, she is seriously deluded. Cancer holds onto things, even people, past their usefulness, and with possessive Pluto in the mix, he wasn’t going to give up anything to anyone, let alone to the woman he fathered a child with, but didn’t marry. His Mars is opposite Uranus, giving him a hair trigger temper. He probably never struck Shaniqua, but he has surely threatened her, with his Moon in easy energetic connection with his Pluto that makes a challenge aspect to his Sun. His Mercury in easy energetic connection with his Uranus (which opposes his Mars), and that Mercury in stress aspect to his natal Jupiter prompts him shoot from the mouth when he is agitated.

Can Jackson be obsessive about women? Yes, he can. As mentioned before, Pluto challengeds his Cancer Sun, the sign of the mother. He would be obsessed with controlling the actions of the mother of his child.

But did he orchestrate a murder attempt on his former lover?

As it turns out, directly, no.

The telling part of the event chart is Mercury in the sky right now was resting on 50 Cent’s stressful Mercury inconjunct Jupiter. Jackson, in the turmoil of the days just after the latest legal battle, probably said something like “I wish someone would just kill the bitch!”, so symbolic of transiting Pluto opposite his Moon. It was an excessive statement made in the heat of the moment, but someone took it to heart. Transiting Mercury in the sign of the twins, sitting indicates two young associates (transiting Mercury trine Neptune), looking to increase their street cred with the rapper, exceeded their authority and set the fire (Mercury square natal Uranus). It was done without finesse and without much thought to the consequences.

As a result, six people, including their idol’s son, was put in physical danger and assets of the star destroyed. Curtis Jackson will be looked at by the police as a suspect in the attempted murder of Shaniqua Tompkins, a shadow he will have to live with for the rest of his days.
