Astrological Analysis: John Wimunc
July 15, 2008

The sad news confirmed yesterday that 2nd Lieutenant Holley Wimunc was murdered and her estranged husband arrested for the crime.
One in four women experience domestic abuse, approximately 1400 women a year die at the hands of their intimate partner. Yesterday, Holley Wimunc became another statistic. Now the attention turns on her husband, a Marine that served two tours of duty in Iraq. What possesses anyone to kill the one he supposedly loved?
As it turns out the people who abuse others can not love, not in a real mature way. As stated in a previous post:
. . .batterers display common traits such as controlling, manipulative behavior, a lack of a sense of responsibility for their actions, and an inability to see how their behavior affects others. They are unable to move beyond stereotyped male/female roles. They need to have a partner that will cater to all of their needs. This thinking is a leftover from childhood’s primitive perceptions of mother of caretaker. They simply have not been able to mature their view of women. They demand a women stay within that prescribe role.
John Wimunc has especially strong drives to be nurtured, with four of the five personal planets in the sign of Cancer. Cancer is ruled by moon and is the sign of the mother. With his planet of personal values in the sign of Virgo, his view of women is that they should be “perfect” and in John’s mind, “perfect” is taking care of his emotional needs. A stress aspect from the planet of the unusual, Uranus, to his Mars and ultimately, that entire stellium of his Sun, Moon, Mars and Mercury displays the emotional disconnect that hinders John from understanding how his actions impacts others. He does not understand why women do not give him what he wants. It also displays how he does not understand that a relationship is give as well as take. With aspects like this, you can easily see where Holley was expected to give considerable emotional support receiving literally nothing in return.
The Moon conjunct Mars is a Moon filled with anger, in stress aspect to Uranus, anger that is fueled to rage. It is no wonder that Wimunc put a gun to his wife’s head.
As the investigation proceeds we are likely to hear a few more tales of John’s outrageous behavior. Unfortunately none of that will explain the military’s lack of response to the obvious threat to Holley Wimunc’s life. We will examine that in future posts.
