Benazir Bhutto: The Classic Aspects for a Tragic Death
December 28, 2007

Benazir Bhutto’s controversial political career came to a tragic end at the hands of an assassin on December 27, 2007 at 6:16 p.m. as she was leaving a political rally. Bhutto was the last of her generation of a powerful political dynastry that’s been involved in Pakistani politics for nearly a hundred years.
Pakistani politics are bloody and corrupt. Her father was disposed as Prime Minister, then executed. Her two brothers, active in resistance movements, died untimely deaths under suspicious circumstances. She herself endured arrest and confinement before her rise to power: her husband, prison and torture, amid accusations of corruption and money laundering after the second time she was disposed. Despite these accusations, she is a much loved figure to many Pakistanis. Her death will surely be a rallying cry to depose the current leadership.
Ms. Bhutto’s birth date is well known, June 21, 1953, and although her birthplace is listed as Karachi, Pakistan, another source lists Lakarna as her birth place. Her birth time is not known publicly which presents the usual difficulties in establishing the timing of events. Still, this astrologer likes a noon birth as a starting point for a rectification. She had classic Virgo features that show in her face, which might indicate a noon birth and Virgo ascendant. It gives her a tenth house Sun, something you would expect to see in a strong leader that survived many years in a treacherous political environment.
So many astrological warnings were present in Ms. Bhutto’s chart that internet discussions about Ms. Bhutto centered on warnings about threats to her life.
Dharmaruci at Astrotabletalk says this about the aspects in Ms. Bhutto’s chart:
Given her situation, any western astrologer would have said, “Look dear, they’re going to get you, if not now, next week, if not this year, next year. It’s not a matter of risk management.
Or course, any western astrologer may have liked to say these things, but it is unethical to inspire fear in your client. Still the aspects in Ms. Bhutto’s chart are classic and striking. She had a Sun/Mars combination, which gave great energy but also great enemies. Mars, the planet of violence, was passing over this combination, within 3 degrees of her natal Mars. Pluto, the planet of secret dealings was in tension aspect to her Sun/Mars combo, and transiting her house of endings, the fourth house. Jupiter and the transiting Sun also sit with Pluto, so there are three powerful men who teamed up to remove Ms. Bhutto as a political threat. On one website, three men are listed as sworn enemies, Baitullah Mehsud, Haji Omar, and Hamza Bin Ladin, men with connections to either the Taliban, Al Quaeda, or both. Whether these men are the architects of Benazir’s assassination remain to be seen, but you can be sure their names made the cut on the list of suspects. Mercury, by transits sits there with this trio, and in this case represents the assassin. By transit, Mercury is in Capricorn is in tension aspect with Ms. Bhutto’s natal Uranus, the planet of explosions. As a planet, Mercury is ruler of the sign of the twins, Gemini. The gunman first shot Ms. Bhutto, (the first explosion) then blew himself and fifty other people up (the second explosion.)
When you consider Arabic parts, you see even more difficulties for Ms. Bhutto. The Part of Assassination, calculated with the Mars, Uranus and Neptune positions, is 8 degrees 20 minutes of Libra, in challenge position with her natal Mars. If you consider a noon birth, her Part of Death is 22 degress, 43 minutes of Pisces, challenging her moon and in challenge aspect to her Sun in Gemini.
Could she have survived these dire warnings if she had taken better security precautions? Her Sun in Gemini and Moon in Libra just don’t think in this direction. Most likely warnings given would be tossed off. She’s lived with threats of assissination all of her life. The deeper you dig in her chart, the more you are forced to conclude that is the gun pointed at her all of her life needed only the barest pull of the trigger to accomplish the deed. The trigger was a stellium of planets transiting her house of endings and Mercury in Capricorn, conspiring with a Mars in Cancer.

Confrontations
This is a day of critical culminations, when many activities and projects will come to a climax in your life. It is particularly important that you have worked with complete knowledge and understanding of what you were trying to accomplish. Even under the best of circumstances, you will confront others at this time. For most people the area of greatest unconsciousness in this regard is that of close personal relationships, as with family and partner. In these relationships you are most likely to experience the negative effects of this influence in the form of arguments and conflict. If you are in such a conflict, look carefully to see what is really at stake, if anything, and try to arrive at a workable compromise.
