Billy and Miley, A Relationship Written In The Stars

Michel Gauguelin undertook massive studies in the position of planets and their applications in the birth chart. One study was that of planetary heredity, which after over 25,000 charts were analyzed yielded that parents and children were more likely to share traits in the their charts than not. He did not find match ups in Sun/Sun, Moon/Moon combinations, but he did find that certain planets. Moon, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn were more likely to share zodiac signs than statistical probability would indicate.

One of the most famous parent/child partnerships is that of Billy Ray Cyrus and his daughter Miley Cyrus, star of the extremely popular Hannah Montana series. Both are immensely popular entertainers and their close relationship is shown in the stars.

Billy Ray Cyrus is probably best known for his hit single “Achy Breaky Heart” (1992). He is also a multi-platinum selling recording artist, with three number-one singles and six top-ten singles. From 2001 to 2004, he starred in the television series Doc, a show about a doctor from the ranch adjusting to the large city. It remains in syndication today. Starting in 2006, he currently stars in the Disney Channel original television series, Hannah Montana, along with his daughter Miley.

The daughter of country-music superstar Billy Ray Cyrus, Miley Cyrus got her start in the entertainment industry on an episode of her father’s PAX TV medical series Doc before appearing in Tim Burton’s fantastical 2003 adventure Big Fish. A fateful appearance as the character Hannah Montana in the Disney Channel series The Suite Life of Zack and Cody followed in 2006, and her character proved so popular that a spin-off series called Hannah Montana was launched shortly thereafter. In the series, Cyrus portrayed a fun-loving California teen that just happens to be moonlighting as a world-famous pop star. Only Hannah’s family (which includes her real-life father on the series) and her two closest friends, Lilly (Emily Osment) and Oliver (Mitchel Musso), know the truth about Hannah’s remarkable secret life.

His Venus, that which he loves, is in the protective and nurturing sign of Cancer, which is sitting with her planets of energy and drives, Mars. He literally loves the things she does and how she does them. His Mars in the social sign of Libra is conjunct her Jupiter (which position was found by Gauguelin to be significant in the chart of entertainers). He provides the social atmosphere, the contacts and the negotiating positions for her career to expand. His Jupiter is the same sign as her Venus in Capricorn. While not conjunct by degree, this does indicate that both of them share the same values when it comes to work and career, though is does seem he might have bigger dreams for her career than she does. His Moon in Aquarius sits along with her Saturn in Aquarius. As much as Billy Ray loves his daughter, there is an underlying lack of warmth in the relationship that is not immediately apparent to the outside world but which she feels very keenly. It would be easy to imagine that at times Miley wonders if her career is more important to her dad than her feelings. There are probably tests in their relationship because of this issue. Eventually as Miley matures, she may decide to put aside the career to develop other sides of her personality.

We see Gauguelin’s results mirrored in the parent/child relationship between Billy and Miley. For more on astrology and heredity, check out this analysis of Eddie’s Murphy’s paternity of Scary Spice’s baby.
