Brad Pitt: “Wouldn’t Cheat”???

The buzz around is that Brad Pitt supposedly told British Cosmopolitan Magazine that he wouldn’t cheat. This story has made the rounds of various entertainment news outlets and of course, has quite a few people chuckling. After all, when your lover is pregnant before your divorce is final, for much of the world, that is evidence of cheating.

We all remember President Clinton’s denial of an affair with Monica Lewinsky. The subsequent salacious revelations of interesting uses for cigars only illustrated for most of us the compartmentalization that can take place when people deny their own actions. Let’s take a look at Brad’s psychological make-up that would prompt him to make such a statement.

Brad Pitt has the free wheeling, sunny sign of Sagittarius as his sun sign but the most striking feature of Brad’s chart is a collection of planets in the sign of Capricorn. His mars, mercury, moon and venus all all colored by the traditional values of Capricorn. Capricorn individuals are responsible, cautious, dutiful, and loyal, among other things. Pitt certainly doesn’t believe infidelity is a good thing. He would worry that, among, other things, that he would get caught. The catch is that for Capricorn individuals, it isn’t that they are concerned with the feelings of their partner, so much as they worry about what they would lose. Any action a Capricorn engages in is always viewed as a risk vs. gain endeavor. As mentioned previously, Pitt is a man who has the need to be the cornerstone of a family.

Capricorns have an unfortunate tendency to view relationships as “business arrangements”. Just as long as you are holding up your end of the percieved bargain, Capricorn will stick with you through the highs and lows of your relationship. The fine print in any relationship with a Capricorn is that your relationship becomes “null and void” when you have failed to live up to your “obligations”. Unfortunately, Capricorns do not always share this clause with their partner. It is their secret “get out of jail free card” that they keep in their suit jacket to make the idea of partnerships bearable to this solitary sign.

Jennifer Aniston was blindsided with this “get out of jail free card” when at some point Pitt decided she wasn’t going to give him the children he desired. Whether this happened just before he started working with Jolie, or at some point while he was doing so, is rather beside the point. Whether or not he was physically married to Jennifer, in his mind, the marriage was over. Since Capricorns can be very single minded in their views, a little thing like a piece of paper didn’t validate the marriage. All that was left was the details, which, of course, is left to the lawyers.

Jolie has upheld the bargain to produce a family in spades. Brad’s desire to have more biological children with her will be a critical component in maintaining the health of the relationship. As mentioned before, the potential in Angelina’s chart is for her to get pregnant soon. As long as Brad percieves that she is willing to uphold their bargain, he isn’t going to cheat. He would have too much to lose. Only time will tell the choices Angelina and Brad will make.
