Cancer: Cuddly Crustacean or Crabby Curmudgeon?

Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008

July 2, 2008
CancerPix_Glyph.pngAnyone with a Cancer person in their life will attest to two things. First they are the sweetest people in the world and second they are impossible to figure out.

This is the first of the water signs, ruled by the moon, with passions deep and mysterious. Like the other water signs they are extremely sensitive, sopping up everyone’s emotions the way a antenna captures radio waves. Because they can’t help but react to their environment you just never know whether the bursts of crabbiness they are so noted for is because of something you have done, or some stray emotion they happened to latch onto.

It is so easily to love them. They are sweet and charming with a natural urge to please. Their natural element is the home and they love to lavish their energy and their time on it and the people in it. Remember, their ruling planet is the Moon, which represents the mother. Even the men have the ability to nurture.

These individuals have a deep rooted need to be connected, preferably to you. Their sense of connection runs so deep that they naturally care for anything that crosses their path. Theirs is the home the stray cat comes to, and possible the stray individual. These are the people who invented emotional intimacy. It comes a naturally to them as a duck to water. People are often confused by the Crab’s ability to be emotionally intimate, often reading that the Crab is more attached than they really are. Often it is difficult to tell if a Cancer person really sees you in a more permanent part of their life. For all their feelings, they aren’t so good about talking about them. To see if a Crab has really decided to become part of your territory you should look to see who they are relating to. Have they formed connections with your sisters and brothers? Do they talk to your mother? If they do, you in for good.
Be ready to settle down for a life of domestic bliss. Your food will be on the stove, and your pillows fluffed for you. How much of this can you stand? Be ready for a life time, because Cancers are known never to let go.
