Today’s Astrology: If You Can’t Do Anything Nice, Don’t Do Anything At All

Wednesday, July 15th, 2009

July 15, 2009

Mr. Grumpy

Mr. Grumpy

Matthew Currie in his Daily Sky sums up the planetary energies nicely when he says we are all confused today. He’s right. When I wake up feeling like toast before I have my morning bagel, I’ve got a good inkling that the day’s aspects aren’t pretty. Heck, I got the Tower on my daily tarot card and no one wants to start the day like that!

Maybe its the inconjuncts. How would we know? Those suckers twist and turn everything around on top of each other so we don’t know which way is up, which way is down. We’ve got the Sun and Mercury sitting together at 23/24 degrees of the zodiac sign of Cancer in stress aspect to Jupiter/Neptune in Aquarius. Like the cat meowing at 4:00 AM for her breakfast, or nails on a black board these energies has us feeling like crawling the walls.

Worse yet, the moon is in Aries, which prompts us to do something, anything, just to relieve tension. The problem with inconjunct energy is that there is no good release for it. A lot of leaks out as crankiness, sarcastic retorts, and snarky comments.

Today’s Astrology: Under the Disseminating Moon

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

July 22, 2008
MoonWatch.jpg
Under a wide trine to the newly minted Leo Sun the waxing gibbous, AKA the disseminating Moon is in the sign of Pisces, sitting right next to the planet of the unexpected, Uranus. Just past the full moon phase, where we glean an awareness of others, the disseminating phase prompts us to act consciously to outside events and to others. This is a thoughtful phase, where we tend to want to share with other people what we know.

Pisces is an overtly spiritual sign. In tune not just with their environment, but the Universe as a whole, people with a profound Pisces signature, either through their Sun, Moon or a connection with their ruling planet Neptune to one of the personal planets, Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus or Mars, have an innate sense of the undercurrents of life. Sitting next to the planet of the future, Uranus, now they have a sense of what is going to happen next. It would be wise to listen to the Pisces person in your life right now to plan your next move as the Universe is literally whispering in their ear. Don’t mind that far-away look in their eye. They are listening to things you can’t hear. With the moon in this phase, they are happy to share what they hear, even if comes out a little like gibberish. Pisces might be a great listener, but they are not so good at translation, so you need to take a little time to parse things out.

With Mars in cautious Virgo, Pisces call to action might be met with skepticism and a reluctance to act. Mercury in Cancer, all for this “let’s go with our feelings” thing is all for moving along on Pisces information super-sensory highway, and will sit patiently as Pisces emotes their vision of the future. With Jupiter in discerning and careful Capricorn, in tension aspect to Cancer, we tend towards a “wait and see” attitude. But taking our time might not be the best option. If you should get an inspiration, act on it. The worst the Universe can do is say “no”.

Today’s Astrology: The Wish for A Mr. Clean Magic Eraser

Wednesday, July 16th, 2008

July 16, 2008
EyeonAspects.jpg
Mr._Clean_EraserYou’ve seen those Mr. Clean Magic Erasers, the micro-sanders that demolish just about any type of stubborn mess on the wall or an appliance, haven’t you? Today nearly all of us will all be wishing for a cosmic version of one as our personal resources, both at home and at work, are found to be a bit lacking and a mess ensues. As the Moon forms a connection with the planet of transformation, Pluto, the planet of abundance, Jupiter, and opposes the planet of communications, Mercury, we scramble to make up for a sudden overload of work. A new work project comes barreling in, the kids tell you about something that you absolutely have to do for them, now! This is a Plan A, Plan B, Plan C day are we juggle and struggle to keep up with its demands.

Aries—Fools rush in where angels fear to tread, but this is ridiculous, Aries. As you rush around trying to grasp at straws for the solution to your latest dilemma, did it not occur to you to just sit still for a moment and think about what it is you should do? Of course, not, Aries, because you prefer to do something rather than think about it. And self contemplation is painful today. No pain, no gain.

Daily Forecast: Lord of Deception

Tuesday, April 29th, 2008

April 29, 2008
MoonWatch.jpg
MoonAqua.jpgThe moon continues its trek through the sign of Aquarius and now comes into contact with the planet of dreams and illusions Neptune. Neptune takes thirteen years of so to traverse a sign, so we have been living with the pernicious effects of the Lord of Deception, forcing them to dig deep within ourselves to find their truth. Today is another such day for us in general, since there are deep seated anxieties about the actions we are forced to make.
This is because the planet of action, Mars is making the stress aspect called the inconjunct to the Moon/Neptune combination. Perhaps we are scolded to be more responsible, or to work harder, not smart-mouthed. We seem to stumble over our words as well, since Mercury is making a challenge aspect to this combo as well. Do I need to say listen more, speak less? It would be wise.

Aries–You got a couple more days to wine ‘em and dine ‘em before Venus slips off into Taurus. Make your plays now.

Taurus–You need only watch what you say, which could upset some people. In a couple days you can have your way with anyone.

Daily Horoscope: Kicking Over the Cans

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008

April 15, 2008
EyeonAspects.jpg

The fleet footed planet of communications, Mercury and the Sun, both in the zodiac sign of Aries are playing a buddy, buddy act kicking over the cans and spilling the garbage. These guys love the attention and the damage they are doing. A challenge aspect from this pair to Jupiter shows how over the top they are.

How does this affect us? Those in charge have big plans and move forward, but are they ready? Everyone in the public eye should be aware that how they are viewed can undergo a radical change in a flash for good or for ill. The first shall be last and the last shall be first. Hang on tight for this carnival ride.

Aries, Leo, Sagittarius–you are given the keys to the kingdom today. Just be sure you know what you are doing and where you are going, because it is make it or break it time. Spin masters all, watch the tendency to over orate because actions really do speak louder than words. You just might to called account to whether or not you practice what you preach.

Capricorn, Virgo and Taurus–Expect radical change in the areas for which you are responsible. A new approach to old problems is called for. Don’t hold back. This could be exactly the opportunity you were waiting for.

Aquarius–You can hardly breathe, so much is piled on you right now. The problem is you are taking on to much and getting back far too little. Rethink your priorities.

Pisces and Libra--Stress is taking a toll on your nervous system. Slow down, take deep breaths, relax. You are the master of letting things go and this is one of the times that it needs to happen. People who expect you to cater to their needs should be told that you need a short break. If you can’t wrangle that, at least put your feet up.

Scorpio–Rethink plans. They are too ambitious for the current time. Attend to practical matters. Make sure bills are paid. To do this, you may have to get a job. If you have a job, you might have to get a new one.

Cancer–Unfortunately, all that crabbiness is only annoying the people you love the most. While we want you to come out of your shell, Cancer, you do need to do so gracefully. Show appreciation to the ones who love you.

Gemini–Go out and have some fun. There are some interesting people for you to meet and greet. Good thing you won’t take it seriously, though, because someone could sweep you off your feet, at least for today.

If you have a question you would like me answer on these pages, send it to starrynightastro@aol.com along with your birthday, birth place and birth time. No names will be published.

Daily Forecast: A Bit Too Much

Monday, April 7th, 2008

April 7, 2008
EyeonAspects.jpg

So did you see where Aries was in your chart? Did you notice that this past weekend, in that area of your life, you were like a bipolar person on crack in the high part of their cycle? Forgive me if I sound harsh, not meaning to insult bipolar people in general. Its just that the new Moon in Aries, conjunct the Aries Sun and Venus and Mercury were super charged by a T-square to Mars and Jupiter and it was all a bit too much.

As an example, with my Mars in my twelfth house (hidden things) and I found myself saying to everyone, including the cats, “Just leave me, aloooone!” It was a effort, a real one, to focus on what someone else was saying.

But just because the Moon is in calmer Taurus, it doesn’t mean that we are done with this yet. The T-square is still there, sans the moon, and we are dealing with relationship issues, big time. And with Venus in stress aspect to the planet of the day by day, Saturn, we really don’t know what we want or how we want to deal with things.

With a nice grand trine in Earth signs between Saturn, the Moon and Pluto, perhaps the best thing to do is just to keep our eye on practical considerations, and spend our considerable energies putting things in order, without worrying about the result of doing so. Just let things be, and maybe the churning and bubbling issues in our lives will calm down just a little and not be so hot to handle.

Aries, Leo and Sagittarius–You are super charged and on the move. You don’t realize that all you are trying to accomplish is getting in the way of the agendas of other people. Please don’t be put off if someone asks you to wait a few minutes.

Moon in Scorpio: Secrets and Lies

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

February 27, 2007EyeonAspects.jpg

What a tangled web other people weave. Things that you did in the past come to bite you in the behind today as today’s Moon in Scorpio form s a tension aspect to the South Node of the moon. Neptune also in the same tension aspect blows out a smokescreen of mist, lending a surreal landscape to far flung accusations and innuendo.

This is all a play for power. Prepare for people questioning your methods and your motives in a bid to get the upper hand. We are treading on quicksand here, the whispered tale, the half baked truth. Sun in Pisces makes it very difficult to get a grasp on tangible evidence, leaving the odor of yesterday’s garbage handing in the air.

There is no good way to Febreze this away. Stand your ground, but don’t argue. Making a a case for yourself today will only make you too guilty. Practice the better part of valor to come away clean.

Aries–You find it difficult to see what it is you did wrong. You are straightforward aren’t you?
Take it at other people’s word that you aren’t doing something right. You can’t see the forest for the trees today. If you have any questions, ask Aquarius.

Taurus–How does that brick wall you just ran into feel? When someone gets your Taurus up, the bull is unflinching in attack. The problem is not every problem can be solved by bulldozing it. Meditate on that while you wait in the proverbial emergency room.

Gemini–Ooh Gemini, no one has fancier footwork. Dazzle ‘em with your quick wit and charm but be prepared to hear back a few of your own inconsistencies, as your audience does an instant play back of past promises.

Cancer–’Fess up, Cancer or your hand will be called. Sweet little old Cancer’s hand is caught in the cookie jar, so don’t even try that “little old me actâ€? you pull out from time to time.
Maybe its time to rethink your finances you don’t go for those cookies quite so much.

Leo–Truth be known you don’t like to work all that much, Leo, so when the boss comes knocking you tend to smile and pass the work along to a subordinate. There are problems with this approach, as you find out today, when something that appeared one way turns out to be quite another.

Virgo–You want so badly for things to be perfect that you have trouble letting the stars work their magic today. Let the dust bunnies sit and clear the cobwebs from your own head today.

Libra–Nothing gets you going like a good argument. The trouble is between which is a good one to engage in. Keep it light and technical. Emotional debates should be eschewed.

Scorpio–You like nothing better than to kick up the dust. However, the only reason you do this to cover your own tracks. Your investigations should be confined to “just the facts, ma’amâ€? to keep things above board, though you are unlikely to get the whole story today.

Sagittarius–Everything you do today will be analyzed logically and with pinpoint precision. At least that’s what they think. Stand still to avoid the bullets, Sagittarius. A moving target only gives them more reason to fire.

Capricorn–You might find even your most calculation steps a misfire, Capricorn, so take things slow and easy today. Sometimes the best defense is to make no offense at all.

Aquarius–People look very closely at what you do today, suspecting you of all sorts of maleficence. What you must NOT do is react in Aquarian fashion, throwing intellectual arguments in their faces. Let the facts speak for themselves. With your cycle on the upswing it will all come out OK in the end.

Pisces–You just have no idea the damage you can cause. Scorpios would love to have your power today. Tread carefully so you don’t step on the fairies or any other close friends

Go, Go, Go!

Wednesday, December 19th, 2007

September 19, 2007
EyeonAspects.jpg

A frenetic Moon in Aries teams up with the powerful stellium of Sun, Mercury, Pluto and Jupiter in Sagittarius to give us that extra push to finish holiday chores. The thing is, Mars in Cancer is weighing down like an anchor, but with these fire signs in control we can use a little restraint.

Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius, no one knows how to party like you. It is good though that you are keeping family concerns at that top of your list, though is does put a crimp in your style. Consider this an advance lesson in restraint that the universe promises you for next year.

Aquarius, Leo and Libra, you are super revved and putting out more than you have since the beginning of the month. Keep it going, because the rest of the month promises to keep you super busy. Get those tasks done! Watch the budget closely as Venus is Scorpio is not your friend right now.

Cancer, Pisces and Scorpio, share the wealth, since you are about the only people who have it. Yeah, dig up those secret stashes and spread some Christmas cheer.

Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn, the only roadblocks to success is your own sense of perfection. Sometimes it is important just to get the work out. Punt.

Waking From the Dream

Monday, December 17th, 2007

December 17, 2007
MoonWatch.jpgMoonPisces_1.jpg
Usually dreamy Moon in Pisces kicks up its heels like a balking donkey in the face of challenges from the Sagittarian stellium of Sun, Mercury, Pluto and Jupiter, and not even getting support from a supposed ally, Mars in Cancer. The Moon is in late degrees of the sign and today will change to a dynamic Moon in Aries. Today we want to lay back and dream, tomorrow we’ll want to go, go, go and get ready for the Christmas show.

Do Over

Wednesday, November 14th, 2007

November 14, 2007
MoonWatch.jpg
MoonCap.jpg
Not only should you keep track of the moon by sign, but also by phase. Each phase responds just a little differently to the current environment. Today the moon is in the waxing crescent phase moving toward the full moon. In the yin/yang duality that pervades astrological thought, all moon phases moving toward the full moon are reactive to surrounding influences, while the phases moving away from the full are reflective, acting from conscious action. With the waxing crescent phase there is a sense of obstacles being put in your way, a sense that you have to do something over to get it right. This is frustrating as there is a sense of urgency to move onto to new things. With the slow and practical Moon in Capricorn in tension aspect to the stick in the mud Mars in Cancer, we have our feet stuck one foot in the past and one foot forward into today.

The Bad Little Boy

Wednesday, October 24th, 2007

October 24, 2007
EyeonAspects.jpg
MooninAries.jpgToday’s Aries moon doesn’t send shockwaves through the Universe but it does flow against the tide of the earth and water influence of most of the other planets. Here Aries is acting like the bad little boy who teases the girls just to get their attention. Egging Aries on is the mischevious Jupiter in Sagittarius and latter in the day, powerful Pluto in Sagittarius, who takes the boys’ side. “Don’t be so sensitive,” says big daddy Pluto. This is not going to be pretty.

The lack of the element air throughout these whole preceedings shows that much thought isn’t given to either action or reaction. The air element rules those signs, Gemini, Libra and Aquarius that are ruled by their thoughts than their emotions. No one is home. No planet is in Gemini right now, trying to hide out from Jupiter in Sag who is looking for someone to talk to. Libra is ready to make a defection into the sign of Scorpio, and Aquarius, has been really out there, communing with the deposed King of Gods, Uranus. Aquarius does like to hang out with
fringes elements of society, but that isn’t helping us now.

Today’s moon is in Sagittarius is normally a lighthearted moon, except that it is sitting on top of power packed Pluto, in tension aspect to Mars in Gemini. Expect a subsequent Tsunami of emotions from Uranus in PIsces opposite the Sun in Virgo. Hang on for a bumpy ride!

Mars in Taurus makes an easy link to Uranus in Pisces while Uranus hooks up with the moon in Scorpio

For all, be especially kind and understanding of your sweetie so that you can go through the day unscathed by angry words. In other words, duck!

Fixed signs, Taurus, Leo, Aquarius and Scorpio should be wary of unnerving those around them with unpredictable actions that could spark conflict.

Mercury in Cancer makes a stress aspect to Jupiter in Sagittarius.

Cancer, Capricorn, Sagittarius and Gemini are a loss for the right words. Loving actions always speak volumes.

Venus in Virgo is opposite the North Node in Pisces

Virgo finds luck in unual places, Pisces finds luck in the practical. Go figure.

Aries and Libra find easy aspects with the Sun’s entrance into Leo. You want to party, though no one else does. Read the above.
