Wimunc__J.pngThe sad news confirmed yesterday that 2nd Lieutenant Holley Wimunc was murdered and her estranged husband arrested for the crime.

One in four women experience domestic abuse, approximately 1400 women a year die at the hands of their intimate partner. Yesterday, Holley Wimunc became another statistic. Now the attention turns on her husband, a Marine that served two tours of duty in Iraq. What possesses anyone to kill the one he supposedly loved?

As it turns out the people who abuse others can not love, not in a real mature way. As stated in a previous post:

Astrological Analysis: The Horrible Fate of 2nd Lieutenant Holley Wimunc

Monday, July 14th, 2008

Wimunc_pix.pngCharred remains found in an area in close proximity to the Camp LeJeune Marine base may the the body of missing Fort Bragg soldier Second Lieutenant Holley Wimunc. Lieutenant Wimunc was listed as missing and endangered after she failed to report to work July 10, 2008. A concerned co-worker went to her apartment and smelled smoke coming from it. It was later determined that the smoldering fire was set by means of an accelerant.

Lieutenant Wimunc had filed for a protective order siting a frightening incident on May 17 where her husband physically assaulted her and held a 9mm gun to her head, then threatened to kill himself. However, when she failed to show up at the hearing for the protective order, the order was dismissed.

Cpl. Wimunc’s parents have publicly stated that the domestic violence charges are false and that Holley and John’s pending divorce was amicable. Since the discovery of the body outside Fort LeJeune, Lana Wimunc, John’s mother, has been unable to reach him.

Holley’s estranged husband, Marine Cpl. John Wimunc was questioned on Thursday, July 10 and Friday, July 11 and denied having anything to do with his wife’s disappearance. He even reportedly allowed police to search his barracks without a search warrant.

If the body proves to that of Holley Wimunc, this would be the third murder of female military personnel in North Carolina in a little more than a half a year.

What can astrology tell us about the disappearance of Holley Wimunc?

The Astrological Signature of Abuse

Broken_Window.pngWhen O.J. Simpson was tried for the murder of Nicole Brown Simpson, this astrologer, like the rest of the country, was caught up in the courtroom drama. Being out of work that summer, I watched raptly just about every minute of the televised trial. When the trial yielded little conclusive evidence one way or another, I attempted, astrologically, to figure out if the famous football hero was responsible for her death. That started a fourteen year ongoing astrological study in the nature of violence, domestic abuse and domestic as well as “stranger” murder. Was there something that came up consistently which displayed a potential for violence?

Though Stacy’s Peterson’s family probably held out some hope that Stacy is alive, the announcement that Drew Peterson’s third wife’s death was a homicide probably dealt a blow to that hope. What does an astrological analysis show of what happened to Stacy Peterson. First, lets look at a timeline of the events of the day Stacy disappeared.

Missing Woman ‘Feared for Her Life’ Sisters Says
“She told me Friday night (October 26, 2007), ‘If anything happens to me, I fear for my life,’” said Cassandra Cales, who described her sister’s marriage as abusive and said Stacey was considering divorce.

As mentioned in yesterday’s post, an abusive man is a master manipulator drawing in women under the guise of the Prince Charming who sweeps his princess off her feet. When the relationship starts taking wrong turns she is already well invested in it. But the abuser is already one step ahead of her. He is invested in keeping the relationship as well, but since he has no real relationship skills, he resorts to lies and manipulation to do so. He starts a brainwashing campaign to convince the woman that she can not get along without him. A very effective abuser, will in short order:

Father of Lies, The Manipulative Personality

Tuesday, October 2nd, 2007

Yesterday we spoke about some of the traits of an abusive personality.

“batterers display common traits such as controlling, manipulative behavior, a lack of a sense of responsibility for their actions, and an inability to see how their behavior affects others.

In the heady rush of a new relationship, women may ignore or downplay the warning signs of a potential abusive partner. Abusers are manipulators, expert at projecting the image they want to portray. While they have difficulty feeling the emotions of love, they have expertly learned the ways to simulate it. In the beginning of a relationship, the abusive man will lavish attention on the woman, sweeping her off her feet with fairy tale expressions of love. Like most things about this man, none of this is real. He has no clue on how to actually love someone. But he does have needs, infantile ones to be sure, but real and pressing, to be loved himself. However, since his capacity for love is stunted he is unable to love a woman in a adult way, expecting the all encompassing mother love to come from the woman. This child like expectation of love fits badly on an adult man, because like a child he does not expect to give back anything substantial to sustain an adult relationship.

A silent epidemic stalks our nation. It affects one in four women during their lifetime. The effects are devastating, resulting in psychological pain, physical injury and, for approximately 1,400 women a year, death. What is this epidemic? Domestic violence.

There have been many studies done on batterers, determining among other things that battering is a learned behavior, that 75% of batterers had witnessed this behavior in their own homes where abuse was the norm.
