Pluto In Capricorn: A Question of Timing

Monday, December 1st, 2008

December 1, 2008

My question concerns Pluto’s entry into Capricorn, though I suppose this could concern other planet sign changes as well. Pluto has entered Capricorn, which is my 3rd house, however, my 3rd house begins at 4Capricorn56. Does this mean that I will not really feel this sign change until Pluto hits this degree? Or when a planet changes signs does it immediately start influencing the house that it rules in one’s natal chart? Or is it a little bit of both? Thanks! (My info is 8/1/60, 1:05pm, Brooklyn, NY)

One never doubts when a Pluto transits takes effect, because life starts turning into running doodoo at that time. But you must be using a different house system than I do, as I use Koch houses, which has as the third house cusp at 26 degrees of Sagittarius. However, when you are dealing with a slow moving body, things don’t happen until it makes a connection to a personal planet. In your case, transiting Pluto is making an easy energetic connection called a trine to your Natal Pluto, a friendly connection to your planet of healing, Chiron, in your fourth house at 0 degrees and a stress aspect called an inconjunct to your Mars in your eighth house of sex and transformation.

Pluto in Capricorn: Not So Status Quo

Friday, November 28th, 2008

November 26, 2008

Pluto has finally made its final entrance into the zodiac sign of Capricorn. Oh, he came to the party earlier in the year, but scooted out the back door, just so the politicians could have their election year fun with Pluto in effusive Sagittarius. But he’s baaaack! Dressed in the proper black pin stripped business suit with a cranberry red tie, all festive for the upcoming holiday season, he’s about as joyful as the third Christmas ghost in Scrooge’s story. “Let’s crunch the numbers, Sweetie,” he says, leering at us with a Havana cigar hanging from his mouth. This is his version of foreplay. Nothing gets him off more than to get down and dirty with bankruptcies, lay-offs and business bail-outs.

Have you ever observed a person with a significant Capricorn signature, that is someone with a Sun, Moon, or several personal planets in Capricorn operate? “I’ll take care of this, this and this for you. Don’t worry,” your brand spanking new Capricorn hire says. All of it is done with stunning efficiency and precision. Then you give them more. They are so helpful, so eager to please, willing to go above and beyond. Then one day you arrive at the office and they are sitting at your desk. “It is time we discuss your future with the company,” he or she says. When did this happen? In the dark, in the night? No all in plain sight, though clearly behind your back. While you were smoozing with your golf buddies on the links, Mr. or Ms. Capricorn became essential to the running the company and took over your job.

Astrological Analysis: Generation Y and Helicopter Parents

Saturday, August 16th, 2008

August 16, 2008

The Millennial generation, or Generation Y, has entered the workplace and their Baby Boomer parents are keeping a closer eye on them than ever before, in many cases taking a very active role in post-college recruitment that continues through a Millennial’s young career. Many leading employers are, perhaps unwillingly, embracing the idea of so-called “helicopter parents,” so just how has this swinging change in demographics affected the workplace?

Many Generation Y experts define a Millennial as under 30 or born between 1979 and 1998. As a group, or stereotype, they are tech savvy, keen to succeed quickly and friendly with or reliant on their parents much more so than Generation X that preceded them. Both groups had very different influences and patterns of parental involvement from a young age. Trick is, Generation Y started entering the workplace after college or grad school about three years ago, which is when some surprising tales started emerging from employers about helicopter parents.

This the is first generation of children whose parents put a computer mouse in their hand as soon as they could sit, and the generation who taught their parents how to code in html. While their parents were brought up on re-runs of the Three Stooges and Tom and Jerry cartoons, they had “He-Man”, “Transformers” and “Gem”. While their parents had Lincoln logs, Barbie dolls and baseball gloves, they had “He-Man”, “Transformer” and “Gem” action figures along with a plethora of other mass marketed items including personal video games. No waiting until you were old enough to enter a bar, electronic games were literally at their fingertips. Boomer children were sent out in the neighborhood to play with their friends and not bother their parents until lunch or dinner time, with nary a parent going out to see what was going on. Yet these same Boomers raised children whose time was carefully segmented into play dates, self improvement lessons of all kinds, and even personal and family therapy. Now these same parents, who didn’t care a hoot about what their parents wanted, (remember the 60’s and 70’s?) are micromanaging their children’s employment futures. And the kids are not only letting them, they rely on them to do it. What gives?

Originally announced for today was “Real Life Sedna Stories” which will be posted, just not today. This question came in which I thought it was more important to post.–

Question:

I live in Boulder Colorado and will be moving back to the east side of the big island of Hawaii in May. My solar return chart sort of scares me. It seems so intense. I will be moving back to Hawaii to renovate the home my husband and I built, but left because we split up (temporaily, back together now). Is this chart dangerous, to my health or my property ( it is in the lava zone). And I feel like so many people want to hold me back or pick a fight and my parents are driving me nuts. The chart when set for Hawaii has the stellium in the eighth house. I am very unfamilar with that, is it death and destruction or something more positive? I am working on writing a channeled/inspired book, that looks like it should go well, right?

Bam Margera–Why Pluto Owns Him

BamPic
Margera (born Brandon Cole Margera on September 28, 1979, West Chester, PA, name legally changed to “Bam”) is a professional skateboarder and television personality. He released a series of videos under the CKY banner and came to prominence after being drafted into MTV’s Jackass crew. He has since appeared in MTV’s Viva La Bam and Bam’s Unholy Union, both Jackass movies, and Haggard, which he co-wrote and directed.?

In August he checked into rehab at the insistence of his wife, and checked out three days later. He apparently is abusing the prescription drug Adderall, an amphetamine used to treat ADD and hyperactivity as well as severe cases of depression. It is also apparent that he is in denial of the seriousness of his problem, even though one of the signs of drug and alcohol abuse is . . .your mate or partner complain that your substance abuse is damaging your relationship.

So what is in store for the professional skateboarder and Jackass star?

Everyone Has a 12 Step Program

Monday, July 16th, 2007

Reader__sQuestion_1.jpg
You mentioned in your weekly forecast that Geminis should watch their spending. I have been having money issues as of lately. Will this clear up for me in the near future or am I destined to be scraping bottom forever?

Everyone has a Twelve Step Program and yours, dear reader, is in handling finances. The Twelve Step Program is mandated by the planet of tranformation, Pluto, which is dragging us all kicking and screaming into spiritual awarness. The handling of money is a key issue for you, with your moon in Libra sitting smack dab on top of Pluto posited in the second house of resources. Your Libran moon has a love of fine clothes, food and chachas, which is all well and good. However, that moon is in challenge aspect to the planet Jupiter, which acts as an amplifier to these desires. It doesn’t help either that you are going through your first
