Astrological Analysis: A Father & His Sons
Saturday, June 14th, 2008June 14, 2008

Michel Gauguelin undertook massive studies in the position of planets and their applications in the birth chart. One study was that of planetary heredity, which after over 25,000 charts were analyzed yielded that parents and children were more likely to share traits in the their charts than not. He did not find match ups in Sun/Sun, Moon/Moon combinations, but he did find that certain planets. Moon, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn were more likely to share zodiac signs than statistical probability would indicate.
This theme plays out in this study of one man and his sons. In the first chart comparing the eldest son and his father, the father’s Venus falls on the son’s Sun in Taurus, and the father’s Mars falls on his son’s Jupiter. You can see the child was born not long after the father’s first Saturn Return, as both Saturns share the sign of Libra.
This child share the facial features and body type of this father, but has fewer Gauguelin marked ties in the chart. However, the father’s Mars does fall on his son’s Pluto. The North Node of the Moon falls on the son’s Mars, and the father’s midheaven falls on the son’s Jupiter/Moon combination.
The third son has a mixture of Gauguelin identified and non Gauguelin identified ties. The father’s Sun sits along the son’s Mercury, the father’s moon shares the same sign as the son’s Mars, the father’s Mars shares the same sign as the son’s Pluto.
Where does the mother fit in? Most unusually, all three children share the same Moon sign as their mother’s.
