Astrological Analysis: A Father & His Sons

Michel Gauguelin undertook massive studies in the position of planets and their applications in the birth chart. One study was that of planetary heredity, which after over 25,000 charts were analyzed yielded that parents and children were more likely to share traits in the their charts than not. He did not find match ups in Sun/Sun, Moon/Moon combinations, but he did find that certain planets. Moon, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn were more likely to share zodiac signs than statistical probability would indicate.

This theme plays out in this study of one man and his sons. In the first chart comparing the eldest son and his father, the father’s Venus falls on the son’s Sun in Taurus, and the father’s Mars falls on his son’s Jupiter. You can see the child was born not long after the father’s first Saturn Return, as both Saturns share the sign of Libra.

This child share the facial features and body type of this father, but has fewer Gauguelin marked ties in the chart. However, the father’s Mars does fall on his son’s Pluto. The North Node of the Moon falls on the son’s Mars, and the father’s midheaven falls on the son’s Jupiter/Moon combination.

The third son has a mixture of Gauguelin identified and non Gauguelin identified ties. The father’s Sun sits along the son’s Mercury, the father’s moon shares the same sign as the son’s Mars, the father’s Mars shares the same sign as the son’s Pluto.

Where does the mother fit in? Most unusually, all three children share the same Moon sign as their mother’s.

Why Do Fools Fall in Love?

Why Do Fools Fall in Love?

Puck:
Captain of our fairy band,
Helena is here at hand,
And the youth, mistook by me,
Pleading for a lover’s fee.
Shall we their fond pageant see?
Lord, what fools these mortals be!

–A Midsummer’s Night Dream

The trickster Puck messes with the attractions of four young people and a hilarious romp ensues. His master, Oberon, the King of Fairies, casts a spell on his Queen, Titania, to teach her a lesson. The spell–Titania falls in love with a beast of burden, the ass. Indeed, throughout Shakespeare’s comedy and the comedy of our own lives, love is seen as something that is out our control, something that overrides our good sense and reason, sometimes deliciously so, sometimes leaving us feeling that we are, indeed, fools.

Puck, without regard for the serious consequences of his actions seem in character like the cherubically portrayed son of Venus, Cupid, whose arrows fly at a whim, or at the whim of some god or goddesses. But is it the heady chemical rush of hormones that pushes us headlong into relationships? Or our desire for something deeper, a connection that transcends the day to day reality of our lives?

Reader__sQuestion_1.jpg
Question: Someone did my chart years ago. She told me that I would never have a committed long-term relationship and that I would just be bouncing from one woman to another all my life. This was very bad news to me. I’ve always wanted to settle down with one woman and have a family. In fact there’s nothing I want more in life. But it hasn’t happened yet.

Birth date: 12/27/1960, birthplace: LAT 37N42 LONG 97W20, Birth time: 12:30 PM CST

Answer: Believe me, after looking at your chart, I can safely say that that person did not know what they were talking about.

Who Do You Love?

Planetsinaction.jpg

The first star we see in the morning and the first star we see at night is our constant companion Venus. Shining brightly in our skies, Venus conjures images of beauty, and romance.

One of the personal planets, Venus in our natal charts indicates the qualities valued in a mate or partner. Woe to the partner who doesn’t espouse their lofty ideals, because he or she will always be found wanting in their eyes, despite their partner’s other sterling qualities.

Excuse me, why are you here? Oh, you want to know about your one true love? Really, just one? Oh, I see, you feel like you’ve found your soulmate, that this relationship is so intense, it can’t be anything else? Tell me, you wonder then why you aren’t married, why the relationship isn’t moving forward? Yes? Here sit, down. Why did I turn down the lights? So we can see the computer screen better, (though it is really because I don’t want to see you cry after I tell you what I have to tell you).

Reader__sQuestion_1.jpg

I would like a reading on what is going to happen for the next month or so.

JUNE 19, 1967, NO BIRTH TIME, 18N00, 76W48

Hah! You thought you were going to get a reading on your career, but that isn’t happening today! Sure the new position you got had more to do with promoting your career, so is the money going to come along? Good thing you didn’t take the job for the money,

What is really happening is that your love life is about to heat up in a most unexpected fashion.

What Makes a Relationship Work?

Thursday, August 9th, 2007

Relationships2.jpg

A few months ago, I did a reading for a client who wanted to know the prospects of a relationship with a man she was interested in. Tried and tried as I might, I just couldn’t see where there was a relationship in the first place. I mean, he didn’t even know she was alive! When I told her that I just didn’t see a relationship happening, she sighed and said “He just hasn’t come around, yet.”

I’m sure she’ll keep waiting for him to come around, but you don’t need to. There are certain indications in comparing both charts to measure the course of true love.
