VenusVenus made her way into Taurus yesterday, a good placement for her. Venus likes the Taurean emphasis on sensual delights. Venus is an ancient goddess, her provenance going back to the beginnings of civilization. The first planet we see in the evening and and the morning, despite her playgirl image, Venus is an important player in the pantheon of ancient dieties.

Why Do Fools Fall in Love?

Why Do Fools Fall in Love?

Puck:
Captain of our fairy band,
Helena is here at hand,
And the youth, mistook by me,
Pleading for a lover’s fee.
Shall we their fond pageant see?
Lord, what fools these mortals be!

–A Midsummer’s Night Dream

The trickster Puck messes with the attractions of four young people and a hilarious romp ensues. His master, Oberon, the King of Fairies, casts a spell on his Queen, Titania, to teach her a lesson. The spell–Titania falls in love with a beast of burden, the ass. Indeed, throughout Shakespeare’s comedy and the comedy of our own lives, love is seen as something that is out our control, something that overrides our good sense and reason, sometimes deliciously so, sometimes leaving us feeling that we are, indeed, fools.

Puck, without regard for the serious consequences of his actions seem in character like the cherubically portrayed son of Venus, Cupid, whose arrows fly at a whim, or at the whim of some god or goddesses. But is it the heady chemical rush of hormones that pushes us headlong into relationships? Or our desire for something deeper, a connection that transcends the day to day reality of our lives?

Filty Lucre-Venus, How You Handle Money

Planetsinaction.jpg

One of the personal planets, Venus in our natal charts indicates the things we love and how we handle money. To find the position of Venus in your chart, go here. A few quick questions, and you’ll have a handy list of the planets and the house cusps in their signs. Or you can go to Astrodienst to get a free copy of your chart.

Venus in Aries likes to spend their money. Their idea of fiscal responsiblity gives heart palpitations to their banker

Venus in Taurus loves to own land and to save money. They can’t enjoy their meat and potatoes if they don’t have something to talk to themselves about.

Venus in Gemini can’t find a hole big enough in their pocket to burn their cash.

Venus in Cancer keeps several bank accounts and tells no one about them.

Venus in Leo wears their assets on their sleeve, literally. Even the men like to wear gold bracelets. The saying “If you got it, flaunt it,” was invented by a Leo.

Venus in Virgo puts their money away and can give you a better accounting of it then their accountants. This is why they rarely hire one

Venus in Libra is so genteel, so kindly, that you feel bad when you ask for a loan. But don’t count on getting it.

Venus in Scorpio have a lot more than they show. However, you aren’t getting a loan from them either.

Venus in Sagittarius will give you the shirt off their backs. Its why you see them naked so often. However, they rarely mind.

Venus in Capricorn will make you work for everything they give you. Be it a boss or a mate they are watching what you are doing, constantly. These are the folks who invented the “honey do” list. Sorry Virgo, you invented the “honey don’t” list.

Venus in Aquarius has no money. They’ve given it to the whales. No, not to a whale conservation society, the whales. Don’t ask.

Venus in Pisces would give anything they had to you, if they could only find it.

The first star we see in the morning and the first star we see at night is our constant companion Venus. Shining brightly in our skies, Venus conjures images of beauty, and romance.

One of the personal planets, Venus in our natal charts indicates the qualities valued in a mate or partner. Woe to the partner who doesn’t espouse their lofty ideals, because he or she will always be found wanting in their eyes, despite their partner’s other sterling qualities.

Ripped from the headlines, we can’t help but to help other people!

Neuroscientists have been working very hard to determine what motivates altruism and as turns out, the impulse to put other people needs before our own is hard wired in our brains.

Apparently, morality is the result of evolution of social behavior.
