Did McCain “Get Jiggy With It”?
February 21, 2008

The scuttle butt running around the press and news feeds is the New York Time’s allegation of an inappropriate relationship between Senator and presidential hopeful, John McCain and a Washington lobbyist.
A female lobbyist had been turning up with him at fund-raisers, visiting his offices and accompanying him on a client’s corporate jet. Convinced the relationship had become romantic, some of his top advisers intervened to protect the candidate from himself — instructing staff members to block the woman’s access, privately warning her away and repeatedly confronting him, several people involved in the campaign said on the condition of anonymity.
McCain calls the the allegations a smear campaign and flatly denies any inappropriate involvement with the female lobbyist? What can astrology tell us about John McCain and his relationship with Viki Iseman?
When looking for a romantic and or sexual relationships in the chart we look at the natal planets and the transits of the people in question. We have no information on Ms. Iseman, and the time period of this alleged involvement was not pinned done in the story. However, everything in astrology resonates in cycles, so let’s take today’s date and push it back eight years, during John McCain’s first run for the White House and compare it to his chart.
McCain has his ascendant in Libra, his Sun in practical and analytical Virgo, and his moon in Capricorn. While the Libran influence on the doorway to his first house lends an attractive aura
around him, his earth sun based Sun and Moon give him a very serious, very practical approach to life. With his Sun in tension aspect to the planet of work and responsibilities, Saturn, this man is a flat out workaholic. Understand something about a Capricorn moon. While this moon position has a fertile imagine when it comes to sexual fantasies, these are not people who are easily swayed to act them out. He would always be conscious of the ramifications an affair would have on his career. It is a moon that always calculates the risk versus the gain before doing anything, They can be very selfish when it comes to their needs, and at least in McCain’s case his need sustain his career is stronger than any sexual drive.
By transit he has several suspicious aspects that indicates something flirty was afoot. His Mars in the sign of Leo, was opposite a transiting (at the time) tension aspect to the planet Uranus. Uranus can bring brief affairs, a sparking of the sexual drive in an inappropriate manner. Neptune and Venus were in Aquarius in harmonious aspect to his Mercury in his twelfth house of secrets. However, these Leo types play hard to get. Seduction for them involves lots of stroking of their egos, and they aren’t going to give it up for just a few sweet nothings. In his chart, his Uranus is square that Mars of his, making him achingly aware of the kicks in the head that can come from inappropriate behavior. This is made all the more poignant by transiting Saturn sitting on his Uranus squashing any impulsive moves. The Uranus influence plays again with the Venus/Neptune pairing that says “let’s be friends” with the Aquarian interpretation of “friendship” as “friends with benefits.” No doubt his advisors were alarmed, fully aware that McCain’s ethical image will always be tainted by the Keating Five scandal.
But no matter the appearances, despite any social flirting, it is entirely true that no sexual relationship happened. That Venus/Neptune pairing we just talked about was inconjunct his Sun, an stress aspect that makes it very difficult to initiate action. With transiting Mercury sitting in his six house of servants conjunct his Saturn, he did indeed, view her as a friend, a work friend at that. Nope, folks, John McCain did not “get jiggy with it”.
