A Compendium of Astrology by Rose Lineman and Jan Popelka copyright 1984 Para Research, Inc.
If you are serious about learning astrology, one of your first book purchases should be this carefully written and assembled book. Covering just about every facet of astrology, it gives you all the tools you need for form the bedrock of your astrological knowledge. For instance, there is a comprehensive section on the effects of the signs on house cusps, something few astrological texts have. The section on chart calculation is clear and concise, helpful for any astrology student faced with this challenging subject. There is even a light pass through Vedic and Arabian astrology, helping to illustrate some of the foundations of our art.
The amount of information is sometimes overwhelming, so it is important to put on your Capricorn hat, and approach it systematically, reading beginning to end. Patience is a virture here, because the cook bookish approach can tax the limited patience of those inclined toward Fire and Air sign behavior. Master this book and you can safely move on to more advanced and detailed books with a firm foundation.
The casual reader will find this book listed under “too much information”, this is an essential book for astrology students, journeyman astrologers may find it useful to help brush up on gaps in their education and the professional teacher may want to have it around for their students to use.
