Mitt Romney: Turn Around Artist?
January 17, 2009

From MSNBC:
Will Republicans ever find a front-runner? Mike Huckabee, John McCain and Mitt Romney have each found a niche, but none of them have expanded beyond it. Did Michigan offer any clues as to who might be able to transcend his natural constituency and give the GOP a consensus candidate?
Read Mitt Romney’s biography and you can’t help but to be impressed. He’s displayed an amazing ability as a turn around artist, taking failing businesses and political situations from disaster to success. For instance, his party tapped him to run for governor of Massachusetts when the then current governor was deemed too much of a political liability to secure a win. Since the 2004 GOP convention Mitt Romney has been considered a contender for the 2008 nomination.
Currently Romney leads the McCain three-to-one lead in delegates to the 2008 Republican National Convention, though that can change with the upcoming Super Tuesday primaries. Up to this point, Romney’s campaign strategies have kept him ahead in votes. But can Romney reach past his core constituency to garner the GOP nod?
Romney had gregarious Gemini on the ascendant. Sociable and charming, he can hold his own in a crowd. And hold his own he will, with a powerful Moon/Jupiter combination in Scorpio. That ascendant is truly his mask as the intense and secretive Scorpio influence keeps him from revealing his inner nature. His Sun is in the visionary sign of Pisces. Mutable Pisces is known for its chameleon like behavior. They can blend with the furniture or take up any disguise necessary. Mitt can and will change his stripes in people pleasing pretzel logic, a trait he has shown in his stand on abortion. He has the personality and the looks and the political savvy to romance the American public. However, his religion is not well understood by the majority of the American public, and his ultra conservative views may put off all but the staunchest neo-con.
Romney shares eight of the eighteen most frequent natal astrological configurations shared by United States presidents, out pacing his nearest rival, McCain by three, and Huckabee by two. No doubt he would make a very good president. However, as said before, quantity of these aspects does not necessarily make his nomination a sure thing. His conservative politics might throw a scare into the GOP party bosses thrice burned by the Neo-con incumbent president’s antics. They may not take a chance on Romney for the presidential nod, if he doesn’t play out well to the American public during the primaries.
Looking at the aspects for Romney on the announcement of the Republican nomination, the planet of the unexpected, Uranus, sits on top of his Sun. This is a long slow transit that produces shocks to the system and rapidly changing conditions. It is in challenge aspect to his natal Uranus, producing unpleasant shocks. This aspect will highlight the differences instead of the similarities between Mr. Romney and the American public. It may be perceived that Romney can not garner enough wide spread appeal to secure the presidency.
However, it is entirely possible that Romney will be offered the Vice Presidential slot, making the Republican selection for the White House team a very formidable one indeed.
