October’s Monthly Forecast: Smoke and Mirrors

by Beth Turnage

October 1, 2008

ZodiacWheel.jpgThe Saturn/Uranus opposition that Julie Dembowski has talked about is kicking us in the rear end in the relationship department, during this month of Libra, the zodiac sign which is all about relationships. Libra’s energy seeks balance and harmony, consensus and agreement, but we have anything but with Saturn in pragmatic Virgo in tension aspect to unpredictable Uranus in Pisces. Saturn wants things concrete, buttoned down, nailed to the wall, but Uranus in this placement is all smoke and mirrors. Mars in secretive Scorpio does not help, when we are either the subject of backhanded power plays or consider hatching them ourselves. Can we see through the fog to find the light? That is the challenge this month.

AriesPink.jpgAries–Look at the fine mess you’ve gotten yourself into this time, Ollie? You are beset at all sides from the disapproval of authority figures, family and yes, even friends. Maybe its time to get religion, dear Ram, since only God is on your side right now. Not one to grin and bear it, you might suffer unfortunate consequences if you come out swinging. Count to ten before you react.

TaurusPink.jpgTaurus–Things are going so well for you, you wonder when the other shoe will drop. OK, someone may do something underhanded, but why look for it? In the long run, it is merely an annoyance. Also, it is my duty to warn you that clandestine affairs in which you participate will not work out well in the long run. Exercise caution there, you devil you.

GeminiPink.jpgGemini–Though you may feel off balance by work demands that are placed on you, you are lucky enough to have the support of friends and colleagues, so things will go much better than you think. As long as you stay on track, that is. Put you nose to the grindstone, and keep up the good work! People will be amazed at the creative solutions you devise.

CancerPink.jpgCancer–Even though you do all the right things, people still are not satisfied. Worse yet, they gossip about you too. This can be almost too much for sensitive Cancer to take. Does it help to know that your friends are just reacting to the stresses of daily living? Probably not, but for the sake of your social networks and your own sanity, maybe its best to turn a deaf ear and a blind eye to the outrageous things you hear and see.

LeoPink.jpgLeo–The month is for you, Leo, since it has all the elements you find so tantalizing. Intrigue, romance and especially drama! Who wouldn’t want to be the star of that show? Well, um, you. If you have a sense of impending destiny, of fate about to unfold, you would be absolutely correct. Best advice. Yield to your better, not baser, instincts. No need to mess up your good looks with a nasty roll in the mud.

VirgoPink.jpgVirgo–Sometimes your feet are planted so firmly in the ground, you forget how to fly. Someone offers you a taste of fun maybe even freedom and you think that it’s impossible to do. Yet, every other aspect says that this is your golden opportunity to break new ground. No one is suggesting you go off the deep end, Virgo, but maybe it wouldn’t hurt if you get your feet wet. Live a little.

LibraPink.jpgLibra– You’ll have to decide whether to risk the disapproval of others to make your dreams come true, or to go along with everyone else. Libra hates to make a scene, and hates discord, yet can you ignore the opportunity that comes your way? You shouldn’t, but that is your decision to make. Hint from an Aquarian: When you take the road less traveled, you won’t feel caged.

ScorpioPink.jpgScorpio–You know what you want and you are going after it. With discipline and work you will achieve your goals. What more can you ask for? Well, you could have true love too, if you believed in it. It good be staring you right in the face, but you would have to recognize it first. For you, it will be have to disguised as true sex, but only it you keep it under wraps. Wicked you!

SagPink.jpgSagittarius–This month finds you wrestling with your dreams and desires and your sense of duty to others. Yes, it is more fun to play, but have you considered the consequences? Of course you haven’t! Whatever you do is sure to have some long range effects on your life path, so consider your next move carefully.

CapPink.jpgCapricorn–Its all good in the work and money department, so why aren’t you feeling satisfied? Maybe its that you realize a lack in the love and cuddles department that isn’t going to be satisfied easily. Maybe it’s when you see a happy couple together, or when you see a love story on the television, but suddenly you realize that it’s lonely on top of that mountain you’ve just scaled. Whatcha you goin’ to do about it, buddy?

AquaPink.jpgAquarius–People are all nicey, nicey to your face, but it’s the underground currents you are sensing that has you worried. Should you be worried? Yeah, people are stabbing you in the back, and you aren’t getting a clear direction as to what is expected of you but there is nothing you can do about it. Perhaps the best thing is to put on that happy Aquarian face and act like nothing is wrong and go about your business. Leave the social espionage to those who have more fun at it.

PiscesPink.jpgPisces–Out of the blue it strikes! Could be love, could be money, but what sucks is that you are wholly unprepared for it. People you rely on give you conflicting views, you, yourself don’t know what to make of the situation. Trust that now is the time for action, but you don’t have to announce it to the world. At any given time, Pisces, hardly anyone has a clue as to what you are up to. Why should now be any different?
