Pluto In Capricorn: A Question of Timing

by Beth Turnage

December 1, 2008

My question concerns Pluto’s entry into Capricorn, though I suppose this could concern other planet sign changes as well. Pluto has entered Capricorn, which is my 3rd house, however, my 3rd house begins at 4Capricorn56. Does this mean that I will not really feel this sign change until Pluto hits this degree? Or when a planet changes signs does it immediately start influencing the house that it rules in one’s natal chart? Or is it a little bit of both? Thanks! (My info is 8/1/60, 1:05pm, Brooklyn, NY)

One never doubts when a Pluto transits takes effect, because life starts turning into running doodoo at that time. But you must be using a different house system than I do, as I use Koch houses, which has as the third house cusp at 26 degrees of Sagittarius. However, when you are dealing with a slow moving body, things don’t happen until it makes a connection to a personal planet. In your case, transiting Pluto is making an easy energetic connection called a trine to your Natal Pluto, a friendly connection to your planet of healing, Chiron, in your fourth house at 0 degrees and a stress aspect called an inconjunct to your Mars in your eighth house of sex and transformation.

With your potent Moon in Scorpio opposite Mars, there are a few issues around sex, fidelity and the men in your life. Trust is difficult for you, because it was abused in the past. The Scorpionic instinct is for retribution, to make someone pay for hurts inflicted. Yet the approach that helps to grow the soul is forgiveness, understanding and taking those steps that protect you from leaving yourself open to new hurts. This is difficult and tricky territory, for it is easy to go too far the other way and not leave your heart open for love. Most people can not negotiate these areas without professional help, and I urge you, if you have not already, to seek such help out. There is much to do, but you have the help of the Universe itself which is providing the proper environment for this work to be done.

Good Luck and God Bless,

Beth
