Star_GuideStar Guide to Weddings: Your Horoscope for Living Happily Ever After by April Elliot Kent 2008 Llewellyn Worldwide– In a perfect world, people would seek out astrologers along with their pre-marriage counseling and get a full reading of the challenges their proposed union would present. As a matter of course, people would choose their wedding date upon the recommendations of their astrologer, thereby minimizing the rate of failed marriages. Take it from someone who chose her wedding day on the basis of astrology, (and the marriage is still strong 16 years later) such a consultation will help minimize the pitfalls and maximize the strengths of the proposed union.

But we don’t live in a perfect world so to help us, April Elliot Kent has written a delightful book to give us a heads up to what we are heading into. April carefully takes us in the world of astrology, using the Sun signs as our guide in choosing our wedding dates. Now there are astrologers who disparage the use of Sun signs for horoscopy as giving us a less than complete astrological picture. But April does a wonderful job of using the Sun signs to describe marriages made during each of the Sun sign dates. Sun sign astrology wouldn’t be around if it didn’t engage us consistently. This astrologer can say that her own “Libra” marriage was described with 92% accuracy. The description of the style of the wedding itself was way off, but the enemies section was chillingly accurate. April has excellent insight as what each Sun sign has to offer a marriage.

So if your friends aren’t offering a reading with an astrologer to help you choose your wedding date, at least one of them can slip you this book. This book is written for the casual reader, but astrology students should pick it to add to their knowledge base. Advanced students and professionals may want to take a look at it too to remind them of the rich tradition behind Sun sign astrology.
