The Personality That Strikes Out, Indications of a Potentially Violent Individual
October 1, 2007

A silent epidemic stalks our nation. It affects one in four women during their lifetime. The effects are devastating, resulting in psychological pain, physical injury and, for approximately 1,400 women a year, death. What is this epidemic? Domestic violence.
There have been many studies done on batterers, determining among other things that battering is a learned behavior, that 75% of batterers had witnessed this behavior in their own homes where abuse was the norm.
Yet, not everyone who views violence in the home becomes a batterer. Furthermore, batterers display common traits such as controlling, manipulative behavior, a lack of a sense of responsibility for their actions, and an inability to see how their behavior affects others. They are unable to move beyond stereotyped male/female roles. They need to have a partner that will cater to all of their needs. This thinking is a leftover from childhood’s primitive perceptions of mother of caretaker. They simply have not been able to mature their view of women. They demand a women stay within that prescribe role.
In light of these common elements, there is clearly a psychological and possibly a physical dysfunction in the working of the abuser’s brain.
Can astrology help identify individuals at risk for violent and abusive behavior?
This astrologer undertook a study to answer just that question. My study included the most violent (serial killers) to men in anger management classes. What emerged was a pattern frequently that occurred in over 50% percent of these charts, a energetic connection running from the Moon to Mars to Uranus.
The moon represents the female principle, the caretaker, the nurturer. Uranus is the planet of individuality, the impulse to do what sets us apart from others. Mars is known as the planet of violence. When coupled with the planet governing impulses Uranus, and the planet of our emotions, the moon, the result is an impulse driven individual who let their emotions drive their actions. Emotionally, these individuals are developmentally stuck, unable to delay gratification for their desires and expressing rage when their desires are frustrated.
Another finding that may surprise many who have an understanding of astrology is that it doesn’t matter what aspect it is, even the trine or sextile. An energetic connection between the three planets is a indicator of potentially abusive behavior.
Clearly there are many men out there to be wary of. An astute astrologer using the above as a guideline can help you dodge the bullet, before you get involved. But even if an astrologer told you, you just might not believe them. I’ll tell you why tomorrow in the second part of this series, “Father of Lies.

As much as it is important to identify a pattern relating to batterers, we must keep in mind that a Moon-Mars-Uranus signature does not necessarily mean that the native will be an abuser. There are many ways this combination can manifest. As an astrologer, I think we should at most suggest a client be wary of red flags, but not that they automatically dodge the bullet, as I think that’s being close-minded.
