The Proverbial Rope and the License to Kill

Astrology for the Week of August 10 through August 16

This week not one, not two, not three, not four but five planets in the sign of Leo. The moon joins Mercury, Saturn and Venus, (who backpedaled from Virgo just to join the party) on the eleventh. The stage is set for the fun to begin.

We will be treated to extra chorus’ of “haven’t you noticed how wonderful I am?” As the sun wends its way through the last half of Leo, a theme emerges as this outstanding stellium of sun centric energy appears to be suspended by the tension aspect, the opposition, to the planet Neptune.

Neptune, as with all the other planets, teaches us about something outside our mundane lives. If there is a surface to Neptune, which is classified as a gas giant, we don’t see it. It would be captured under the swirling mists of methane gas, is not visible to the eye. Oh, we see Neptune. It looks from afar to be beautiful. Closer, we see its swirling cloud formations and faint rings, still amazing. But to get to its core, we’d be crushed under the weight of its atmosphere. So Neptune represents that beyond ourselves that we can not see clearly. It represents all things transcendent, romance, mystery, illusions, and delusions. Here is where we don’t see the forest for the trees.

Worse yet for our fire sign friends as the planet Pluto in Sagittarius continue its strong connection. Pluto talks about power and control, and with the harmonious trine to Leo and the other fire signs, it is a license to kill.

So on one hand you have Pluto saying “go ahead, do what you want?’ and Neptune saying “Sure, sounds like a good idea to me” and Leo, Aries and Sagittarius are thinking, “Great, I’m going to get what I want!”

The thing with Neptune though, is that it will pull the rug out from underneath you. Whatever you are thinking through a Neptunian lens, is just bound to have no foundation to stand on. It is the proverbial rope to hang yourself.

So what to do? Check it at the door. Dream big dreams, but have a wing man to run it by. Listen to what other people are saying, especially if it is not what you want to hear. Implement new plans carefully, check all the details. Based your thinking on the “worse case scenario”, not “it can be!”

This week:

Aries, Leo and Sagittarius, you’ve been warned.

Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn, attend to the details. Check your bank account. Check the words of advice you offer. You are sensing the instability of these days, but it is best not to take it out on those around you. If someone tells you to get your act together, tell them to check the “plank in thine own eye.”

Libra , Aquarius and Gemini you could easily jump on the fire sign’s bandwagon. Before you upset the apple cart, why don’t you just have a barbecue instead. Serve soft drinks only though.

Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces, playing with the big boys will only get you in trouble. While Scorpio has a grasp of the issues, Cancer and Pisces are really at sea with them. However, keep off of the playing field, as you could end up being everyone’s favorite fall guys.
