The Slug Fest Continues: Obama vs. Clinton

Barack Obama’s sweep of the Potomac Primaries bumped up the junior Senator’s claims of being the presumptive Democratic front runner for the race to the White House. He has a slim margin of 100 delegate votes. But does Obama have a lock on this position?

Clinton’s camp all but wrote off Wisconsin until Hillary made some changes in her staff, and now they are moving forward in Wisconsin.

“Hillary does better with blue-collar voters, working-class voters, union members, said Senator Sherrod Brown, the Ohio Democrat who has not endorsed anyone in the race. “Barack does better among African-Americans and younger voters and upper-income voters. . .

Mrs. Clinton’s campaign showed signs of being buffeted by conflicting forces as it sought to grapple with a dwindling number of options. Mrs. Clinton’s advisers, after some discussion about whether to focus exclusively on Ohio and Texas for the next three weeks, finally decided to send her for three days this week to Wisconsin, which votes next Tuesday.

Clinton is not conceding anything to Obama. What are her chances that she can run fast enough and strong enough to win this state ? How well will Obama do?

Casting a chart for Wisconsin on the day it became a state, we see a group that values intelligence and communication skills, (Sun, Mercury in Gemini) the pioneer spirit (Moon in Aries), and traditional home and hearth values (Venus in Taurus). They are conservative in spiritual values (Saturn in Pisces) and distrusts things that seem too good to be true. By virtue of Neptune in Pisces in the tenth house, they believe they hold out as a shining example of the American dream, work hard, take care of your family, save, and you can achieve anything. In fact Wisconsin’s culture of hard work and saving for the future has helped staved off the worst effect of the subprime mortgage disaster according to one economist who says:

• Wisconsin will not be hit by the subprime crisis as hard as most other states. Mortgage foreclosures in Wisconsin are half the national average.
• Wisconsin consumers have above national average credit scores and lower debt levels.
•Booming export sales are employing manufacturing workers in Wisconsin. Exports in 2006 were over $17 billion dollars, a 50 percent increase over a three-year period.

The world does not look quite as scary to Wisconsin as to the rest of the country, so Obama’s message of “Change might not have the same impact as it does in other forums. In fact on the day of the Wisconsin primary, transiting Saturn sits on his Uranus in Leo, limiting the effect the message of change has on the voters.

In fact, with Mars as it is in the sky, t on top of Wisconsin’s Saturn, and the Sun in Aries sitting in the same sign as Wisconsin’s Mercury the people of Wisconsin are looking for someone that resonates with their ideology.

Hillary’s Moon sits along side with Wisconsin’s Saturn. The moon by its position in the sky sitting along side with Hillary’ powerful Mars/Pluto combination is in harmonious aspect to Wisconsin’s Sun/Mercury combination. This astrologer’s opinion is that Hillary’s campaign strategists very much underestimated the positive response Hillary will recieve in Wisconsin, sending Obama’s campaign an unexpected jolt to the system.

The slug fest continues.

    Hi Beth ..

A friend of mine just referred me to your website .. I read your horoscope for the water trilogy and was very impressed .. also liked some of your other articles .. Had a question about this statement that you made regarding Obama ..”But transiting Jupiter is making a trine to his Pluto, revealing for the first time the inner drives of this man for power and control without having real substance to keep a handle on it. This might put off the power brokers.” I’m just wondering why a trine would throw people off .. looking for insight ..

I’d love to chat with you .. I’ve been an astrologer for many years. Last night I just put together a BLOG with some astro scoop … I’m just starting and am technically ‘an idiot’! If you want to check it out .. it’s about the eclipses .. it’s practicalastrology.blogspot.com You are clearly very hip technically and would very much like to converse with you ..

    Keep up the good work!!

    Jill

I tend the view the aspects in a neutral way. A trine isn’t automatically “good” or a square “bad”. I tend to look at them as “red lights, green lights” with a trine “pressing the gas pedal” and a so called “malefic” aspect “hitting the brakes.”
