The Veil of Isis

The mysterious moon in Scorpio draws down a veil of secrecy over this weekend’s proceedings. With most of the planets in feminine signs, sans the Sun in Libra, Jupiter and Pluto in Sagittarius and Neptune in Aquarius, the atmospheric shift is the hidden life within, the flow of emotions, the tide of here and now. We have been riding so much male energy for this past summer that we’ve been carried along on that wave, only to be beached, like a shell riding swept along in the surf to settle on a far away shore.

You can here the roar of the beach as you step in the temple of Isis, an ancient queen for ancient peoples. She sits timeless upon her throne, tranquil and assured. Not a wisp of emotion crosses her face. Since she contains all wisdom, she has no worries about the world.

Behind her is a tapestry, the veil of life, worked in delicate threads with the design of pomegranates, a symbol of fertility. But Isis here is yet a virgin goddess, her potency not manifested through a sacred marriage. She is self contained, complete in and of herself.

In our modern world, with so many elements pushing and pulling at us, work, family, friends, husbands. lovers, we forget the part inside us that is our own, the source of wisdom that is available to any with the senses to intuit.

With Mars in Cancer, Saturn and Venus in Virgo, Mercury and Moon in Scorpio and Uranus in Pisces it is the perfect time to look within and find the source of wisdom inside you.

Mars the planet of action is in Cancer, the sign of home and hearth. Mars here is drawn inward, the focus on family and to everyday activities in the home. Since it the natural time of the harvest, Mars is perfectly placed, as we begin our preparations for the winter ahead. Mars, usually bold and brash, is more muted in this water sign, and probably a little cranky about it. You can expect the men folk to feel a little put upon as you prod them to clean the gutters, order the winter oil and rake the leaves. There’s football to be watched, after all. Nothing better than holing in up in the family room for the weekend.

With ‘Saturn and Venus in Virgo, you’ll probably spend more time than you planned do a good fall cleaning. Maybe this is the time the basement gets cleaned out, or the closets reorganized and the winter clothes brought out, sorted and cleaned. Deep inside is a need to clear the clutter. Is this just a physical process? No. Behind every deep cleaning is a need to sort through the memories of the past and put them into perspective. Do you need to keep those old love letters? Should you sell your mother’s crystal that you never use? You run across the things of your past, you remember the emotions of your past self, the events in your life, the choices you made.

Mercury and Moon in Scorpio flushes out deep buried feelings, and repressed memories. With moon coming to square Venus and Saturn, we find ourselves feeing a little hurt that thins did not work out differently. Venus represents the things we would like to have and Saturn represents the things that we can not. Perhaps we’ll feel nostalgic over a lost love, or nurse an old slight or reface a past fear. It is important to examine these emotions from the perspective of what you’ve gained instead of what you’ve lost to ward off bitter feelings.

In times long since gone, ceremonies and remembrances were available to women to honor them and help remind them of their special place in the Universe. Today, we jam women into every role, and except for one Sunday in May, most of us are not honored. This week is the week to for ourselves to remember our sacred feminine nature.

As the moon in Scorpio, Sagittarius and Capricorn, a series of sextiles sparkle in the firmament, easing the way into the territory of emotions that we haven’t visited for a long time. The Temple of Isis, the sacred place of feminine wisdom, waits within. Are you coming?

Aries, Sagittarius and Leo, you really must slow down. You’ll only end of with some nasty bumps and bruises if you continue at this pace.

Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn, you find comfort in the day to day activities that annoy the rest of us. This week it really is OK not to worry about the rest of it.

Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces, this week is made for reflection on old loves and outworn ways. Can you come away with the feeling that you are stronger and wiser as a result of your experiences? You should.

Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius, this week was made to annoy you. That’s how you feel, anyway. Everyone is so busy getting in touch with themselves, they aren’t going to bother getting in touch with you. Try a little soul searching yourself.
