Astrology for the week of July 11 to July 18

In the television series “Burn Notice super efficient, super controlled top spy Michael Weston finds himself on the outside looking in when some unknown Power That Be sends out a “Burn Notice marking Michael as “unreliable. Excommunicated from the ranks of the professional spy, without warning or explanation, he was dumped unceremoniously into the antithesis of the war torn countries he previously operated in, party city Miami Beach. Here, stripped of money and resources and under surveillance by the FBI, Michael is left to fend for himself. Why was he “burned? Michael plots a series of maneuvers to discover the reason and get control of the situation. The series finale and the new season teasers suggest he is being coerced into accepting an assignment he would not normally consider.

This week we are faced with our own version of “Burn Notice as stresses and tensions rub raw the issues we can hardly fathom. The precise execution of duties and responsibilities are at odds with a stubbornly obtuse need to ignore them.

Work and home issues demand attention as action packed Mars rides along with Saturn, giving a jolt to the sedate taskmaster. Saturn usually likes toy with us, putting the screws to us slowly. Not this time. With Mars to spur Saturn on in the sign of perfectionist Virgo, it just won’t do just to do it and get it done with. We’ve got to get it RIGHT and we’ve got to do it NOW. We hear about it when we don’t.

The Sun in home loving Cancer is the focal point of a yod, forming a stress aspect (inconjunct) to power broker Pluto in the fiery and freedom loving sign of Sagittarius and inconjunct the planet of confusion, Neptune. We are obsessed with our own emotional needs and couldn’t care less about what we cannot or will not perceive.

The icing on the cake is a pernicious Pluto/Mercury opposition and Venus in stress aspect to Pluto. Mercury in moon ruled Cancer talks about security needs, but Pluto talks about anything but. Real emotions lay just under the surface threatening to break through with a drastic change of view. Venus, representing our value systems is thrown off kilter by a stress aspect to powerful Pluto. Our moral compass itself is askew and we lack internal guidance. The need to control thinking processes is so strong that there is a real danger of being coerced or coercing others to a certain point of view. We need to be careful of this tendency if we see it in ourselves or be wary of it if we see it in others. If we do not, the whole situation threatens to blow up in our faces, with unfortunate consequences to follow. We just might get burned.

For the Upcoming Week:

For you fixed signs, Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius, you find your personal missions particularly difficult to accomplish this week. You are waylaid by the machinations of others. It is not even that you are stopping to pick up the “Golden Apple but rather having to side step the snide swipes of your competitors. Do so carefully and gracefully and you’ll come out ahead.

Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn—you feel the power but not the means to accomplish it. In fact, you are feeling a bit like you are stuck in quick sand and indeed you are. Take a close look at what you should be doing, instead of what you feel like doing.

Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces—You just might feel like going along with the crowd this week, because quite frankly you aren’t sure what it is you want to do. Don’t worry. There are plenty of people around who won’t mind telling you where to go or how to get there.
