Weekly Forecast: “Can’t We All Just Get Along?”

by Beth Turnage

August 15, 2008

The August 16 lunar eclipse marks a period of intense questioning about our relationships, especially in terms of how they affect us emotionally. This coming week sets off this theme with a bang as we face a number of oppositions, the tension aspect, that highlight the status of our relationships.

Today a Sun/Neptune opposition muddies our interactions with authority figures. Maybe their motives are inscrutable, but most likely we are not getting the point. Trying to understand what is expected of us may be just beyond us right now. Throughout the week this theme is reinforced with Mars, the planet of action and the planet of the unexpected, Uranus sits in opposition to each other.

When the moon slides out of Aquarius into Pisces, many of us find that that the criticisms of others strike us to our emotional core. Either we strike out or strike out on our own, but is this going to solve the problems. Critique may be justified, but criticism just isn’t helpful.

When the moon moves into challenge aspect to Jupiter, we feel the need to “do something” but the only thing to do is to dig deep and come up with the constructive plan of attack to our problems, though that seems to be elusive now.

On the twenty-first, we get our first taste of fall’s upcoming Libra energy as Mars moves into socially oriented Libra. The question this upcoming Thursday is “what can we do to get along?”

Aries, Leo and Sagittarius—Until the moon moves into Aries you’ll be feeling that everyone is against you. Guess what, they are! No one is particularity interested in listening to complaints. You get some action at the end of the week, but only when you transform your ideas of how to get the cooperation you seek.

Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn—Keeping it together while everyone else is having their “nervous breakdown” is quite a feat, even for you. You are made to take it, but you’d rather not, but you aren’t sure exactly how to help. Just be the rock you are meant to be. Just being there is enough.

Gemini, Libra and Aquarius—Earth to Air Signs, are you there? Come in Air Signs! Of course your best defense to all the swirling emotions around you is to shut them out, but then you shut out the world as well. As pleasant as it is to live in your own little Universe, your presence in ours is required. Dress: business casual.

Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces—You are comfortable in your own emotions, even if everyone else is not. Still your outbursts are unpredictable to many, even if you mean them for the cry for help that they are. Try talking about what you want instead of having little tantrums. There, don’t you feel better now?
