Weekly Forecast: What’s the Buzz? Signs and Portents That We Are Over Stimulated

Week of May 16 to May 22

We don’t have to always look to the stars for certain signs and portents. We have concrete signs that we are over stimulated by media overload and the frenetic pace of American living. Here are a few:

Newspaper circulation declines 2% each year.

viewing is down with no measurable reason.

While some people like to point to internet use for these declines its is clear that people are not looking for news content or information about the world in general. A look at the top five internet activities shows MySpace usage at the top with 11%, followed by Yahoo (8.5%) msn.com (3.7%), Ebay (3.7%) and google (2.1%). Yep, we only want to know, what we want to know, because here is another sign we are on information overload:

National ads have started to appear for a finger tip massager to “heighten” personal pleasure that is produced by a well known condom company.

Need I say more?

Astrologically speaking we are on overload once again with a persistent Saturn in Virgo in tension aspect to Neptune, hardly astrological news. However, both those planets stand in challenge aspect to Sun conjunct Venus, calling into question our personal values and straining our personal resources. As this combination comes into stress (inconjunct) aspect to the moon, we hardly know where to go next for relief.

Mars in Leo mixes up handily, challenging the moon in Scorpio in the beginning of the week and play best buddies with moon in Sagittarius and Sun in Gemini, really setting the world on fire. If you can’t the heat, you have to get out of the kitchen.

This tension and indecision stress the home front as well. Take care that a few words flung out in frustration and anger doesn’t make a permanent mark on the fabric of your closest relationships.

Aries, Leo and Sagittarius–You feel bogged down by a slew of responsibilities and demands for your time. Fire signs never do well when you can’t play foot loose and fancy free, so you especially must be wary of the Foot in Mouth Syndrome. However, if you can keep tabs on your temper you’ll be rewarded in very personal way.

Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn–You are feeling the heat this week, when people are saying you aren’t pulling your weight. Nothing is further from the truth, but sometimes you can’t change people’s perceptions. It does no good try to fend off these doggedly stubborn yet flaky pronouncements. Count to ten.

Gemini, Libra and Aquarius–On one hand you are a ball of fire, and on the other hand you appear to be a fire raging out of control. While you whizz around give multitasking a new definition, other people wonder when the train wreck is going to happen. Its safe to ignore the snarkier comments, but on the other hand, it doesn’t hurt to slow your roll.

Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces–You are emboldened by a smoldering moon in Scorpio at the beginning of this week, then pulled back to reality by a blazing moon in Sagittarius. You are shocked at the results of your own efforts which threaten to take over your life. Fortunately a calmer moon in Capricorn conjunct the planet of control, Pluto help you take back control. Remember this as a lesson of what happens when you play with fire.
