There are twelve signs and twelve house corresponding to those signs. But would it surprise you to know there are really only six expressions of human existence? It works like this.

Each zodiac sign has a polar opposite. Though each sign has its own unique traits, they also share some with their polar opposite. Each set of opposites represents a continuum of human expression, maturing from an personal view to a universal one. These expressions encompass Self, Values, Knowledge, Resources, Leadership, and Service. Where these axis’s fall in our chart is where we need to earn our merit badges.

Aries/Libra–â€?I am, We areâ€?. In the Aries/Libra expression the focus starts on self, and matures into a realization of the “otherâ€? in our lives. The Aries soul is solely is concerned with what he achieves, laying down the law as alpha male, and dominating his environment. The Libran native works to achieve harmony with his environment, building consensus and harmony with his circle of associates, promoting the collective rule of law.

Taurus/Scorpio–â€?I have, I controlâ€? This represents to spectrum of personal values. Taurus lives to collect possessions, whether they are material goods, land, money or people. Taurus lives with a sure and certain sense of the solidness of existence. Taurus lives through her senses, pleasured by enjoyable experiences. Scorpio lives with a surreal sense of the impermanence of life and the existential nature of existence. While Taurus seeks expression in the material world, Scorpio seeks to bridge the material with the spiritual, juggling expression as a human in a three dimensional world, while trying to master extra-dimensional existence.

Gemini/Sagittarius–â€?I talk, I learnâ€? This axis expresses the continuum of wisdom and knowledge. Gemini is concerned with collecting of thoughts and ideas, while Sagittarius takes thoughts and ideas and spins them into a body of knowledge for everyone to use. Gemini talks endlessly to give focus to the many ideas stirring around in their brain. Sagittarius talks endlessly because he wants to express what he has learned of the thoughts and ideas in his mind.

Cancer/Capricorn–â€?My home, My careerâ€?, Cancer rules the activities in the home, the private life. Capricorn rules career and the expression of the public self. The home is the protective cocoon that nurtures the family and career represents how we interact with the community. This is the axis our of personal resources, that which we have to use to support our existence.

Leo/Aquarius–â€?I rule, The group rulesâ€? to lead or not to lead, that is the question. Leo represents the king, the leader of the pack, containing the control of the group for the groups own sake. It is the paradigm of a species coming into self awareness, handing control to one best suited to make decisions. With Aquarius, the species has sufficiently developed so that many of the collective are prepared to make wise decisions, and control is handed to a majority rule.

Virgo/Pisces–â€?I work, I serveâ€?, Virgo maintain their personal interests by serving those nearest and dearest to them Pisces serves humanity at large. What we give back to others is the glue that holds our society together.
